Zee Telefilms Limited is the pioneer of satellite broadcasting and the broadcasting industry in India. It launched its flagship television channel Zee TV, in the year 1992. Zee TV USA, Inc. started its operations in the USA on July 15th, 1998, with its “flagship” general entertainment channel - Zee TV. ZEE TV was so well received that within the initial few years it became numero uno among the non-Hispanic premium ethnic channels in the USA.

The product with its judicious mix of programming from India, Pakistan and the UK was designed to hold a wide appeal to the entire South Asian segment living in the USA. The popularity of Zee arises from its understanding of Indian (South Asian) culture and beliefs which are depicted in its programming. The library of Zee programs from India laced with free cricket and latest blockbuster movies has drawn South Asians in the USA to the channel in huge numbers. Currently Zee TV is available on Dish Network and most of the leading cables systems in the USA.
 

Zee launched its second channel, Zee Cinema in 1995 in India and in 1999 (as Zee Gold) in the USA. It was the first Indian pay channel for Hindi movies. The channel reaches South Asian movies fans all over Asia, the UK and the USA.

Zee Cinema is broadcast 24-hours a day and broadcasts seven movies a day and other film-based programming under the theme 'Movies, Masti (fun) and Magic'. Zee Cinema boasts a broad range of movie fare, ranging from recent box-office hits through rare classics to original movies. The channel's core proposition has always been to offer the best Hindi films to the viewer, from its extensive library of more than 3,000 titles. Many of Zee Cinema's high appeal genre movies, such as action adventure, thrillers and comedies are presented in festivals and special features specifically designed to appeal to movie lovers. Zee Cinema is available on Dish network in the USA.

Zee Gujarati was launched in March 2000 in India. It was brought to the USA in July 2005 and is available as the only Gujarati language channel on the platform. It is positioned as a family entertainment channel for all Gujaratis. The channel provides a platform for 'culture' preservation & promotion and contributes towards further enriching the heritage of Gujarat (state in India). The channel showcases a contemporary programming including current affairs/news and festival centric events like Navaratri.

Alpha Punjabi was launched in October 1999 in India. A majority stake in ETC was acquired in 2002 which gave birth of Alpha ETC Punjabi. The channel was brought to the USA in July 2005 as the only Punjabi language channel on the platform. The channel captures the spirit of the audiences catering to their preferences. Alpha ETC Punjabi has a variety of offerings for everybody, providing a full range of quality Punjabi language entertainment for the entire family.

The programming seeks to provide music and event-based programming, as well as drama series for the entire family rooted in the Punjabi culture and centered on family values, relationships and emotions. Other programming includes news, current affairs, comedies, interactive shows and live performances.
